Entry to the education floor; main building.
Our project is ambitious; however our mission is clear—providing direct services to reach more children BEFORE they fail and helping more parents and professionals learn ways to help through mentoring and training. The full amount needed for our land purchase, renovation of existing structure, building of the administrative building, landscaping, specialized equipment, furnishings, and fixtures is $6.8 million.
Since October, three more funders have recognized CHILD's capacity to serve as regional resource, sharing with parents and professional throughout the region what we have learned in 38 years of addressing sensory processing and other developmental and neurological disorders that interfere with learning.
We received a matching grant of $8,000 from the District Rotary Foundation for an earlier award from the Mercer Island Rotary Club Foundation to incorporate more sensory-responsive equipment into our playground. CHILD was also awarded $34,000 from the First Financial Northwest Foundation (awarded through the Renton Community Foundation) to purchase furnishings for our training institute. And, tremendously invigorating to all, the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust has pledged to provide us with a top-off grant of $200,000. We are closing the gap and are now within just $500,000.00 to complete Phase One of our facility project!
Our new campus is nearly complete with just 2,200/sf more to finish. The concrete foundation has been poured - we are almost there!
Together, we can do this. Now is the time for us to be strategic and build upon what we have accomplished. Join us and reach out to those who share our passion for creating a world in which every child succeeds. Every moment counts -- and your ambassadorship is needed.
Our campaign is not a traditional one. but as you know, we took a risk because we knew our community would be there for us.
